  • The trick to eye makeup lasting all day .

Apply an eyeshadow primer - like Mac  Prep + Prime 24hr  Eye Base   in a thin layer across your whole eyelid  and then apply your eyeshadow over the top.

It give a long lasting finish and true colour pay off. Use concealer only under the eyes and in the inner and outer corners of the eye to hide dark circles, or very lightly tap over brow bone if you need the coverage there.

Applying certain concealers under your eyes and on your eyelids may seem like the perfect way to mask dark circles and eye bags. However, it does not only cause your skin to crease, but it also gives a dry appearance to the area that surrounds the eyes, which ruins the eye makeup and, sadly, defeats its purpose altogether.

  • Make Your Skin More Luminous by Mixing Your Foundation

Do you want to achieve luminous skin that speaks of youth and radiance? Mix your foundation with a bit of golden or pearly liquid highlighter- Ilia Liquid Light Serum . On the other hand, you can also blend it with argan oil. These will give you the right amount of shine that will complement your natural glow. You will be surprised by the result of this magic!

  • Heat Your Eyelash Curler with a Hairdryer

Just like your hair, your lashes also curl when heated. Instead of with a curling wand, work with your eyelash curler. With a hairdryer, heat it before using. Then, allow it to cool for a few minutes and clamp your lashes as you usually do. The added heat will help your lashes curl faster and stay in shape for hours.

For those that find the traditional curler scary or hard to use you can also buy a heater eyelash curler which can be used before and after mascara as its not clamping the lashes. Try 1000 lash  or the cult Aussie Model Co.

  • Use a Spoon When Applying Eyeliner and Mascara

Was there a time when you spent lengths on finishing your eye makeup only to find out that mascara ended up on your lids? Else, you can barely perfect an eyeliner? By using a spoon, you can get away with these avoidable mishaps!

Take a spoon from your kitchen and place it underneath your lashes as you apply your mascara. For drawing an eyeliner, you can use the instrument as a stencil. That way, any excess lines or residue will end up being drawn on the back of the spoon instead of to your eye area.

  • Draw an Instant Smokey Eye

Most dramatic smokey eyes require different eyeshadow shades and the skill to make the perfect blend. You might be surprised to know that there is a faster and easier way to go by using a cream long lasting eyeshadow. I love the Bobbi Brown crayon range and Revlon ColorStay pots. Apply from lash line all across mobile lid and blend into the socket.  You can use a  brush or your finger. Apply under the bottom lashes and use it to stretch out the outer corner. To intensify apply black liner in the waterline.  This trick ensures a pair of symmetrical, killer smokey eyes!

  • Make Your Lipstick Stay on for Longer

Lipstick has a way of ending up everywhere but on your lips. If you find it fading away before your day has ended, you can use this hack to make it last longer.

Apply lip liner all over the lip , then a layer of lipstick. Now, take a tissue  and peel the 2 layer apart and place one layer over your newly coloured lips, then dust it with some translucent powder, which will protect its vibrance. By doing this, you spare yourself the need for bathroom breaks for lipstick re-application throughout the day!

  • Match Your Lip Colour with Your Cheeks

Coordinating the colour of your cheeks and lips gives a refreshing and natural appearance. The best thing about this is that you only need one product to slay this. Apply your favourite lipstick on the back of your hand, then transfer the colour to your cheeks using your fingers to dab or a foundation brush to blend it.

  • Draw Your Cheekbones

While not everyone has the asset of a pair of pronounced cheekbones, you can achieve one by making the most of your makeup! To do this, first, find the hollows of your cheekbones. Then, apply a  matte bronzer or contour colour that is a couple of shades darker than your natural skin colour to the area. Blend like crazy so there is no lines just a sculpted cheek. Next, add a good blend of pink or peach blush to the apples of your cheeks. For the finishing touch, dab some highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones. Voila, a fabulous facelift!
