Why should I book a shoot with Simona Janek?

I have been a model and makeup artist for over 20 years. I have the experience and know how to make women feel beautiful. If you want a session to boost your confidence then choose me to photograph you at this stage in your life. Read my online reviews to hear what others have to say.

The women you show look like models. Is this for someone like me, Can I do this?

This is a huge compliment because all of the women you see are not models and are just everyday women of all ages. These women were probably just like you- looking at my photos and thinking “I wonder how I would look?"

I make women look and feel amazing. Being a model myself previously, I know how to pose you, how to light you and I know exactly how I can shoot to bring out the very best features and hide the things you may not be so confident about. It is my job to produce the most flattering images of anyone that comes to my studio.

You don't have to know how to pose, how to dress, or how to style… that is my job and I take it very seriously. I will guide you every step of the way, from preparing you for your photo shoot with wardrobe ideas, to posing every part of you.  So come in and take that leap of faith, you can do this…we can do this together!

Do you supply any props?

You will arrive at the studio to see it’s set up like a bedroom, complete with some props including corsets, flowing tule, stockings, slips gowns and textured fabrics. It is great if you can bring any jewellrey or personal items such as hats, scarves, underwear - anything that personalises your photography session and makes you look and feel great.

What will I wear for my boudoir photography session?

In your consultation and shoot design session we discuss how you would like to be photographed and what outfits you need to bring. I do have a accessories, hats, corsets, and some vintage pieces in my studio for clients to wear.

Wear whatever you feel beautiful in and these items are likely to already exist in your closet.  A crop top and high waist pants, swim wear, a robe, a nightie or lingerie. Don't worry to much about what to wear. I can use fabrics and bed sheets to create some amazing looks.

How do I prepare for a boudoir photoshoot?

Be prepared for your shoot and get the best results with attention to detail. Have a manicure and fresh nails with polish. Make sure your hair colour is up to date and you don’t have any regrowth. Try on your outfits - work out what one’s fit you best and are most flattering. A professional spray tan a couple of days before can be a great look and help you feel more confident showing more skin.

Is hair and make up included?

We will start with pampering you - styling your hair and applying professional makeup. We will discuss your looks and we often start with more subtle makeup and go more glam during the session and outfit changes.

I am uncomfortable about nudity and don’t know how to pose… will you help me?

Whilst we show some skin, most nudity is implied. We keep your underwear on so you are more comfortable. You can show as little or as much as you like. It's not your job to know how to move in front of the camera. I will demonstrate and guide you through the most flattering poses for your body type. Your job it to relax and enjoy the photography and makeover experience.

How do I prepare my skin and hair?

The night before exfoliate your skin and follow with a hydrating moisturiser. In the morning follow your usual skin routine. Don't apply SPF cream. Hair should be clean and dry. Double shampoo your hair like your hairdersser, rinse well and condition mid length to ends. Do not wax closer that 4 days before as make up doesn't adhere to freshly waxed skin. If you like to look tanned get a spray tan 2 days prior to the  shoot.

I don't wear heavy make up, will I still look like me?

Yes , you can choose the style of professional makeup you would like for your shoot. You can start of fresh and natural and then take it through to glamorous.

When will I get to see my photos?

At the end of your professional photography session we schedule a viewing appointment for about a week later. The reveal session takes place back at my Leichhardt studio. This is where you get to choose and purchase your professional photographs.

Do you photoshop the images?

All my finished photographs are professionally retouched. I find many women may have a part of their body they are more self conscious about and want that area taken care of in a natural way.

How much does it cost? What should I expect to spend.

My boudoir session fee is $295 and includes professional hair and make up. My prints start at $195. I take beautiful portraits and its up to you how many you buy. There is no hard sell. Most of my clients will spend between $1000 - $2000.

Do you sell the digital files?

With all the professional photographs you purchase, I give you a digital copy.

Will you use my images on your website/blog/portfolio?

I would love to use images from our boudoir photography session together to show other women your amazing photos just like the ones you see here!  In saying that, I understand if you might be uncomfortable to share them online. I will only share if you grant permission. Just let me know what you feel comfortable with after you see your images. We can show as little or as much as you like.
